How to start a balcony vegetable garden in Thailand
A friendly, five-step guide to your first balcony harvest — even in the middle of Bangkok.

Balconies in Thailand are warm, bright, and — if you pick the right plants — surprisingly generous. Start with plants that love heat: cherry tomatoes, sweet basil, chillies, and lettuce grown in the cooler morning shade.
Choose pots with drainage holes and a light, airy growing medium. Amor EcoFarm's peat-and-perlite mix works well for most edible crops.
Water in the early morning, feed lightly every two weeks, and rotate pots so every leaf sees the sun. Within six weeks you'll be picking dinner from your railing.
