Large irregular holes appear in leaves, especially on young plants. Slime trails may be visible on leaves, soil, or containers. Severe infestations can destroy seedlings overnight.

Slugs and snails thrive in cool, damp environments with high humidity. Thick mulch, excessive watering, weeds, and garden debris provide shelter and ideal breeding conditions.

Hand-pick slugs and snails in the early morning or evening. Use beer traps, copper barriers, or iron phosphate bait for effective control. Reduce hiding places by removing weeds and excess mulch.

Keep the garden clean and well-drained, avoid excessive watering, water in the morning instead of evening, remove weeds regularly, and inspect plants frequently during the rainy season.
