Straight Eight is a reliable slicing cucumber known for its straight, smooth, dark-green fruits and crisp texture. The vigorous vines grow best in warm conditions with full sun, fertile well-draining soil, and consistent moisture. Fruits are typically harvested at around 8 inches long for the best texture and flavor. The plants can be grown in garden beds, raised beds, or large containers. Providing a trellis is recommended because it saves space, improves airflow, keeps the fruits cleaner, and makes harvesting easier. Regular harvesting encourages continued fruit production throughout the growing period.
Climate & growing season
